Oppo, meet the Space Truck! I bought this 1976 Coachmen President for $100, and plan to fix it up and go on ridiculous trips and shit with it.

Only current issues are it needs a battery, fuel pump, fuel lines, and has mice

I plan on reupholstering the seats and painting the cabinets

Being a 1976 440, it gets 915 heads, 6 pack rods, a Carter Thermoquad, and an amazing compression ratio of 8:1.

Don’t worry, that generator door will be fixed soon- and the whole will be filled with a 6.5KW Onan

It is- The previous owner had gotten 98% through a remodel when the mice got in and his wife put the kibosh on the whole deal.

My family has a Space Van -

(not ours, but it looks identical - it’s an Airstream Argosy from the 1970s, predecessor to the model used NASA Space Van)

I actually has a 454 Chevy motor powering the rear wheels, so it’s also a muscle car.

Welcome to the wonderful world of ancient RVs.

You say the remodel is 98%. Do all apliances work? AC? fans? plumbing? electrical? I refused to deal with the “sticks and staples” so I gutted the RV and put most of its interior into my bus.

Moved the appliances over. added the fan, AC, electrical, generator, front door, and miscelaneous bits and bobs. Now I have a steel box I can live in and travel the country, but it was a lot of work.

Oh, I forgot to mention, chop up and throw a few bars of Irish Spring soap all over the place... mice hate the smell. Bounce fabric sheets are reputed to do this as well.
